What is Site Retargeting

Site Retargeting is a sort of Targeting feature for Ad Distribution, it allows your Search Ads to be displayed for the users who have visited your site and then searched the products or services relevant to your Ads on the search engine.

Site Retargeting allows you to distribute your ads effectively, setting your desired and undesired target users, etc.

Setting the exclusive tag for Site Retargeting on your website and accumulating the visits of internet users are needed in advance.

Step 1: Check “Privacy Policy” page of your site

Before tagging, please make sure whether the “Privacy Policy” page of your site describes content of "Required for Privacy Policy".
If there is no content required, please refer the topic below and setup the content of "required for Privacy Policy" on the Privacy Policy page for your site.

Step 2: Acquire Site Retargeting Tag

Login to the Campaign Management Tool, to acquire Site Retargeting Tag.

Please also note that you need to sign-in with Admin or Edit role to acquire the site retargeting tag.

Step 3: Set up Site Retargeting Tag on your site

Set up Site Retargeting Tag on the Advertiser:s website.
To set the Site Retargeting Tag on your site, lets you to accumulate your site visitors’ log or Reach Status, and based on this log, you can distribute your Search Ads.

Without the Site Retargeting Tag, you cannot accumulate the site visitors log on the page.  We recommend you to put the Site Retargeting Tag on all pages of your site.

Step 4: Create Target List

To target users for your ads, creat the Target List.
The list enables you to display your relevant ads for appropriate user groups.
You can set up the list with specific URL (or some text string of the URL), specific labels or Referrer URL to make conditions for targeting users.

To deliver ads using Site Retargeting, the number of Unique Users on the Target List must be more than 1000. You can check it on 'Reach' on Target Lists in Tools tab.
*The system may not distribute ads even when the reach is over 1,000.
  • You can create the Target Users whom you do not distribute your Ads on your Target Lists, when you set Campaig or Ad Groups for the Target Lists. (See Step 5)
  • The URL includes double byte character can be set as a condition for the Target List by URL encoding*.
    *Encoding URL is to change the unrecognized request for the server, the URL which includes full-width or other two-byte character, in the recognizable request for the server, that is the URL includes a particular combination of characters.

Step 5: Set the Target List for Campaign or Ad Group

You need to set Target List created on the Step 4, onto the Campaign or Ad Group.
With this setting, you can distribute your Site Retargeting Ads to the Target Users when they used the keywords that you specified for their internet searching.
You can set this in the 'Target Management' Tool tab.
