- Tips
- In Display Ads, if you select a country other than "Japan" when creating an account, you can't use auto-tagging. Even if you install the complementary feature tag of conversion analytics, you can't complement the conversion tracking.
To use these complementary features for conversion analytics, the following setup is required.
1. Set the auto-tagging
2. Add "Site general tag" and "Complementary feature tag" on each page in your website
1. Set the auto-tagging
About auto-tagging setting
When you set the auto-tagging for your account, the parameter “YCLID” (yclid=xxxxxxxxx) is added to the first destination page's URL after the internet user's ad click on ads. This parameter is used as click identification and a complementary feature of conversion tracking.
- Tips
- You can set auto-tagging on the account level. When using multiple accounts or using both Search Ads and YDN, check auto-tagging is activated for each account.
URL examples
When auto-tagging is "Set": http://aaa.co.jp
When auto-tagging is "Do not set": http://aaa.co.jp?yclid=xxxxxxxx
*The parameter “yclid=xxxxxxxxx” also appears on the address bar in the browser.
- Note
- When auto-tagging is “Set,” an error page may appear on some websites that don't allow optional URL parameters. You can't check the URL that contains added parameters.
Ask the administrator of your website or test the behavior by clicking ads when Auto-tagging is “Set.”
