Yahoo! JAPAN Ads Help

There are four ways to create new ads using the campaign editor for Display Ads (campaign editor).

This article describes how to create an ad at a time.

Tips
To use images and videos in your ads, upload them in advance. Learn more about_Add images or_Add videos.

Create an ad at a time

Steps
  1. From the left main menu, select your ad type.
    • Text
    • Banner
    • Responsive image
    • Responsive video
    • Banner video
    • Dynamic display
    • Carousel
  2. Click "Create ad (text)."
    *The texts in the parenthesis vary depending on the ad you select in Step 1.Create
  3. Select the upper-level campaign and ad group, then click "OK."

    Tips
    • You can select multiple campaigns and ad groups.
    • When you select a campaign, each ad group under the campaign will have the same ad.
    • Skip this step when you select only one ad group in the account tree.
    Data for the ad is added to the lowermost line in the data area.
    Set each item in the data details area. Enter the setting by changing the following tabs.

    *Description for setting on each tab will be displayed by clicking the following links. Tab displayed depends on what you select on Step 1.

    Tips
    • Learn more details of "destination URL format" and "final URL format" in the following table on "Ad format types" of "Create Ads" page.
    • If the error message is shown on data details/upper section of the data details area when setting each item, please confirm the error message and fix the settings.

    Enter the URL of the webpage that is displayed when clicked the ad.

    Final URL

    *For the final URL format only.

    Enter the URL of the webpage that is displayed when clicked the ad.

    Smartphone final URL

    *For the final URL format only.
    When the webpage displayed when users click the ad is different on PC and smartphone, enter this smartphone final URL.

    Display URL format

    *For the final URL format only. Select any of the options "Domain only" or "Up to the first directory".

    Tracking URL

    *For the final URL format only. For tracking, set the URL for ad measurement.

    Custom parameter

    *For the final URL format only. Enter the parameter name at the left field, then enter the parameter value at the right field.

    Enter the parameter name at the left field, then enter the parameter value at the right field.

    Advertiser IndicationEnter either the company name, brand name, product name or service name.
    Tips
    • Enter only brand names, product names and service names that have a trademark registration.
    • For the App campaign, entry is not needed because the name set on the campaign level is automatically reflected.
    ButtonSelect the button name to display in the ad.
    Campaign nameThe campaign name selected in Step 3 appears.
    Campaign goalThe campaign goal selected in Step 3 appears.
    Ad group NnameThe ad group name selected in Step 3 appears.

    Create Ads with Ad Type "Responsive"

    • If the video has not been downloaded in advance, the video is downloaded before playing.
    Video thumbnail imageClick "Select image" to select a video thumbnail to set for the ad from the list.

    • Add video thumbnail images in advance from Common Library > Images.
      Add Images
    • Right-click on a thumbnail in the "Select image" page to review the image in the original size.
    Logo imageClick 'Select logo' to select the logo image to set for the ad from the list.

    Advertiser indicationEnter any of your company name, brand name, product name or service name.
    Tips
    • The brand name, product name and service name have to be registered as a trademark.
    • For the App Campaign, Advertiser Indication is automatically reflected based on "App Name" set for the Campaign.
    ButtonSelect a button to display in the ad.
    Campaign nameThe campaign name selected in Step 3 appears.
    Campaign goalThe campaign goal selected in Step 3 appears.
    Ad group nameThe ad group name selected in Step 3 appears.

    Logo images

    1~3

    Click "Select logo" to set for the ad from the list.
    Tips
    • Add logo images in advance from Common Library > Images.

    • Available logo sizes:
      - 400x200 pixels
      - 600x600 pixels
      - 600x80 pixels
    • Right-click the thumbnail image in the "Select logo image" screen to review the image in the original size.
    Campaign banner image 1~3Click "Select image" to pick an image for the campaign banner.
    Tips
    • Add campaign banner images in advance from Common Library > Images.
    Add images
    • Available campaign banner sizes:
      - 600x500 pixels
      - 600x600 pixels
      - 600x80 pixels
      - 600x1200 pixels
    • Right-click the thumbnail image in the "Select image" screen to review the image in the original size.
    Ad nameEnter the ad name.
    Display URL

    *For the destination URL format only.

    Enter the display URL.
    *For the final URL format, the display URL is generated automatically.
    Destination URL (logo)*For the destination URL format only.
    Enter the URL of the page that appears after the logo click.
    Destination URL (campaign banner)*For the destination URL format only.
    Enter the URL of the page that appears after the campaign-banner click.

    Final URL (Logo)

    *For the final URL format only. Enter the URL of the page that is displayed when users click the logo image on the ad.

    Smartphone final URL (Logo)

    *For the final URL format only. When the webpage displayed when users click the ad is different on PC and smartphone, enter this smartphone final URL.

    Display URL format

    *For the final URL format only. Select any of the options "Domain only" or "Up to the first directory".

    Tracking URL

    *For the final URL format only. For tracking, set the URL for ad measurement.

    Custom parameter

    *For the final URL format only.

    Enter the parameter name at the left field, then enter the parameter value at the right field.

    Advertiser IndicationEnter your company name, brand name, product name or service name.
    Tips
    The brand name, product name and service name must be registered as a trademark.
    ButtonSelect a button on the ad.
    PrefixWord or sign which is placed in front of price value.
    Example
    ¥,$
    When you have "Price" or "Sale price" in your Item list file, this item or Suffix is required.
    SuffixWord or sign which is placed after price value.
    Example
    万円 (unit of 10 thousand JPY), (税抜き)(tax not included)
    When you have "Price" or "Sale price" in your Item list file, this item or Prefix is required.
    Base ColorTo select a background color of the ad, enter the HTML color code in hexadecimal digits.

    Campaign nameThe campaign name selected in Step 3 appears.
    Campaign goalThe campaign goal selected in Step 3 appears.
    Ad group nameThe ad group name selected in Step 3 appears.

    Item

    Settings

    Status

    Set On/Off status of the ad.

    Ad group bid

    The bid amount set for the ad group is displayed.

    Image size of the card

    The size of logo image can be selected.
    *As of July 2021, only 600×600 is available.

    Logo image

    Click "Select Logo" to specify the logo image for the ad from the list

    Ad name

    Enter the ad name.

    Display URL

    Enter the display URL.

    Destination URL

    Enter the URL for the page that will be displayed when the ad is clicked.

    Final URL

    *For the final URL format only. Enter the URL of the page that is displayed when users click the logo image on the ad.

    Smartphone final URL

    *For the final URL format only. When the webpage displayed when users click the ad is different on PC and smartphone, enter this smartphone final URL.

    Display URL format

    *For the final URL format only. Select any of the options "Domain only" or "Up to the first directory".

    Tracking URL

    *For the final URL format only. For tracking, set the URL for ad measurement.

    Custom parameter

    *For the final URL format only.

    Enter the parameter name at the left field, then enter the parameter value at the right field.

    Advertiser indication

    Enter the company name, brand name, product name, or service name, to identify the advertiser. Only the registered trademark name can be entered. Learn more details on the described page.

    Button text

    Select the button name to display in the ad. Select from the drop-down menu.

    Campaign name

    The campaign name that was selected at the step 3 is displayed.

    Campaign goal

    The campaign goal that was selected at the step 3 is displayed.

    Ad group name

    The ad group name that was selected at the step 3 is displayed.

    Card 1-10

    Image

    Enter the information for the carousel card.
    You have to set two or more carousel cards, up to 10. Images and other settings for each card are required.

    At "Image", click "Select image" to specify the image to set to the card.

    Title

    Enter the title to set to the carousel card.

    Description

    Enter the title to set to the carousel card.

    Destination URL

    Enter the destination URL to set to the carousel card.

    Data Sync Beacon tab

    Impression Beacon URL

    Enter the appropriate URL when you use a 3rd party's tool which can link impression data. When you don't use a tool, you can leave it blank.

    Viewable impression beacon URL

    Enter the appropriate URL when you use a 3rd party's tool which can link viewable impression data. When you don't use a tool, you can leave it blank.

    Viewing Beacon URL
    • Viewing Beacon URL (start),

    Enter the appropriate URL when you use a 3rd party's tool which can link video view data. When you don't use a tool, you can leave it blank.

    Viewing Beacon URL (10 seconds):
    Enter the URL provided by tool vendor when linking video view data to a tool which support video view data linkage, or when linking data to a tool which can track app install (conversion via video view) on mobile app campaign. When you don't use a tool, you can leave it blank.

    Third party script tab

    ItemDescription
    Third-party script tag src attribute URLEnter the URL which is described on the src attribute of tracking script tag provided by recommended analytics partners. When you don't use, leave as a blank.

    Label tab

    ItemDescription
    LabelDisplays label name set up to the selected ad. Comma separated for multiple ads.
    Edit'Select label' will be displayed after clicking 'Edit'. Select the labels to set up to the ad.
    Click 'OK' to complete.

    Tips
    Max. 50 labels are available per ad.
    • You can add new label by clicking '+Add label' in the bottom.
    • You can search for a label with the text box.
    Remove labelsAll labels set up to ads selected will be removed by clicking "Remove labels".
  4. Upload created ad data to the Campaign Management Tool
    Complete application to the Campaign Management Tool by uploading the ad data created in the Campaign Editor. See the following page for detailed uploading procedures. Upload data to the Campaign Management Tool.
