Yahoo! JAPAN Ads Help

There are four ways to create new ads using the campaign editor for Display Ads (campaign editor).

This page describes procedures for creating one ad at a time.

Tips
  • To use images and videos in your ads, upload them in advance.
    Learn more about adding images and videos on the following help pages.

  • For some items where the symbol "〜" (wave dash, UnicodeU + 301C) representing "from, to" can be entered, the corresponding symbol is converted to a full-width tilde "~" (Unicode U + FF5E).

Create one ad at a time

Steps
  1. Select any of the following in line with the type of ad to create from the display content selection list on the left side of the Campaign Editor main window.
    • Text
    • Banner (image)
    • Responsive Ads (image)
    • Responsive (video)
    • Banner (video)
    • Dynamic Ads for Display
    • Carousel Ad
  2. Click "Create ad (text)."
    *The texts in the parenthesis vary depending on the ad you select in Step 1. Depending which ad style you choose, the link name varies such as “Create ad (banner image)”, “Create ad (Responsive image)” etc.
  3. Select the upper-level campaign and ad group for which to create an ad in the “Select ad group” window, then click the “OK” button.
    Create an ad group
    Tips
    • You can select multiple campaigns and ad groups.
    • When you select a campaign only, one ad is created at a time for all ad groups under the campaign.
    • When only one ad group is selected in the account tree, this procedure is unnecessary.

    Data for the ad is added to the lowermost line in the data area.
    Set each item in the data details area. Enter the setting by changing the following tabs
    *Description for setting on each tab will be displayed by clicking the following links. Tab displayed depends on what you select on Step 1.

    Tips
    • Learn more details of "destination URL format" and "final URL format" in the following table on Ad type "Final URL format page.
    • When creating a new ads and editing ads, you can select the final URL format only.
      The destination URL format (prev) is planned to close at the end of October 2022. We recommend converting to the final URL format as soon as possible.

    • If the error message is shown on the data details/upper section of the data details area when setting each item, please confirm the error message and fix the settings.

    Create Text Ads

    For the App campaign, entry is not needed because the name set on the campaign level is automatically reflected.

    Tips
    • It is necessary to add videos in advance using “Common Library” > “Images.”
      Add video files
    • Right-click on a thumbnail on “Select video” view or “Data Details Area” to play and review the video in each quality.
    • If the video has not been downloaded in advance, the video is downloaded before playing.
    Video thumbnail imageClick “Select image” to select the video thumbnail to set for the ad from the list.
    Tips
    • It is necessary to add video thumbnail images in advance using “Common Library” > “Images.”
      Add image
    • Right-click on a thumbnail on the "Select Video Thumbnail Image” to review the video in the original size.
    Logo imageClick “Select logo” to select the image to set for the ad from the list.

    Note

    Dynamic Ads for Display is available for specific advertisers.
    It’s not available for the customer who can’t see “Item list promotion” option for the campaign goal when creating a new campaign.

    Logo images 1-3

    Click “Select logo” to select the image to set for the ad from the list.

    • The following three sizes are required for the log image.
      - 400 x 200 pixels
      - 600 x 600 pixels
      - 600 x 80 pixels
    • Right-click on a thumbnail on the "Select Logo Image” to review the image in the original size.

    Campaign banner images 1-3

    Click “Select image” to select the image to set for the campaign banner from the list.

    Tips
    • It is necessary to add images for the campaign banner in advance using “Common Library” > “Images.”
      Add image
    • You need to specify one or more sizes for using campaign banner images.
      - 600 x 500pixel
      - 600 x 600pixel
      - 600 x 80pixel
      - 600 x 1200pixel
    • Right-click on a thumbnail on the "Select image" page to review the image in the original size.

    Ad name

    Enter the ad name.

    Display URL

    ・For the destination URL format:
     Creating and editing settings are not available.
    ・For the final URL format:
       The display URL is automatically generated for your ads.

    Destination URL (Logo)

    *Only for the destination URL format:
    Creating and editing settings are not available.

    Destination URL (Campaign banner)

    Enter the URL of the page displayed for click on the campaign banner.

    Final URL (Logo)

    *For the final URL format only
    Enter the URL of the page displayed for user’s click on the logo image.

    Smartphone final URL (Logo)

    *For the final URL format only
    Enter the URL for the smartphone when you provide separated pages for user’s click on your ads both on the PC and smartphone environment.

    Display URL format

    *For the final URL format only
    Select any of the options "Domain only" or "Up to the first directory".

    Tracking URL

    *For the final URL format only
    Set the URL for measuring advertising effectiveness when tracking.

    Custom parameter

    Button

    Select the button name to display in the ad.

    Prefix

    Word or sign which is placed in front of price value.

    Example

    When you have "Price" or "Sale price" in your Item list file, this item or Suffix is required.

    (14)Suffix

    Word or sign which is placed after price value.

    Example 
    万円 (unit of 10 thousand JPY), (税抜き)(tax not included)

    *When you have "Price" or "Sale price" in your Item list file, this item or Prefix is required.

    Ad base color

    To specify the background color, click ‘Specify’ and enter the 6-digit hexadecimal color code.

    Example 
    #FFFFFF

    Campaign name

    The campaign name selected in Step3 is displayed.

    Campaign goals

    The campaign goal of the campaign selected in Step3 is displayed.

    Ad group name

    The ad group name selected in Step3 will be displayed.

    Image size of the card

    The size of logo image can be selected.
    *As of July 2021, only 600×600 is available.

    Click “Select logo” to select the image to set for the ad from the list.

    Ad name

    Enter the ad name.

    Display URL

    Card 1-10

    Image

    Enter the information for the carousel card. You have to set two or more carousel cards, up to 10. Images and other settings for each card are required.

    At "Image", click "Select image" to specify the image to set to the card.

    Title

    Enter the title to set it to the carousel card.

    Description

    Enter the title to set it to the carousel card.

    Final URL

    *For the final URL format only
    Enter the URL for the page that will be displayed when the carousel card is clicked.

    Smartphone final URL

    *For the final URL format only
    Enter the URL for the smartphone when you provide separated pages for user’s click on your carousel cards both on the PC and smartphone environment.

    Destination URL

    *Only for the destination URL format:
    Creating and editing settings are not available.

    Data Sync Beacon tab
    Impression Beacon URLEnter URL only when using tools that can connect impression data. Leave the field blank when not using the tool.

    Viewable impression beacon URL

    Enter URL only when using tools that can connect viewable impression data. Leave the field blank when not using the tool.

    (3)Viewing Beacon URL
    • Video Beacon URL (start playing)
    • Viewing Beacon URL (3 seconds)

    • -Viewing Beacon URL (complete)
      Enter the appropriate URL when you use a 3rd party tool that can link video view data. Leave the field blank when not using the tool.
    • Viewing Beacon URL (10 seconds)
      Enter the URL provided by the tool vendor when linking video view data to a tool that supports video view data linkage, or when linking data to a tool that can track app installation (conversion via video view) on a mobile app campaign. Leave the field blank when not using the tool.

    Third-party script tab

    ItemSetting
    Third-party script tag src attribute URL

    Enter the URL to script tag src attribute provided by recommended analytics partners Leave the field blank when not using the tool.

    Label tab
    ItemSetting
    LabelDisplays label name set up to the selected ad. Comma-separated for multiple ads.
    Edit“Select label” will be displayed after clicking “Edit”. Select the labels to set up the ad. Click “OK” to complete.

    Tips
    Max. 50 labels are available per ad.
    • You can add a new label by clicking “+Add label” at the bottom.
    • You can search by label name by entering a keyword in the text box and clicking on the “Search” button.
    (3)Cancel setupClick "Cancel setup" to unset all labels for the selected ad.
  4. Upload created ad data to the Campaign Management Tool.
    Complete application to the Campaign Management Tool by uploading the ad data created in the Campaign Editor.
