Create a Performance Report

Users with "Admin","Edit", and "Read-only" access can create performance reports for past 25 months. Learn more on "Manage account access."

Create New Performance Report

Steps
  1. Click the "Display Ads" tab of the Campaign Management Tool.
  2. Click the account name in the Accounts List.
  3. Click the arrow in the [Report] tab and then click 'Performance Report' in the pull-down menu that appears.
    Or, it is also possible to click the [Report] tab and then the [Performance Report] sub-tab.
  4. The 'Performance Report' screen will appear. Click the [Create New Report] button underneath 'Created YDN Reports'.

When creating a new performance report, follow the instructions on the "Create New Report" page. There are two ways of creating report: using recommended settings and selecting your own items.

Create Report by Applying Recommended Settings

Recommended report settings have items selected for your reference.
Items selected is described on Create a Performance Report (Applying Recommended Settings).

Create Report without Using Recommended Settings

 

Steps
  1. Select the report type. [More detail]
  2. Select the item to display the report from "Display by." [More detail]
    To set this, click [+Add Items] and select the tabulation unit from the pull-down menu.
  3. Select_the items to show in the report from "Items Displayed." [More detail]

  4. The items set for display can be sorted with "Sort Items Displayed." [More detail]
  5. Select the reporting period. [More detail]
  6. Enable filters. [More detail]
    Using the filters, you will be able to narrow down the data on reports as needed. See the following steps to use filters.
  7. Select the report creation method. [More detail]
    Select whether to just create the report, or to create a template at the same time along with the created report. When a template is created along with the report, the report's settings are saved.
    Items from steps 11 and 12 are displayed if "Create Report and Template" is selected.
  8. Enter the report name.
    If "Create Report and Template" is selected, then this will also be reflected in the template name.
  9. Select the file format to use for outputting the report.
    Select either CSV, TSV, XML, or a compressed version of one of these formats (ZIP).
  10. Select the report creation schedule. [More detail]
    If 'Create Report and Template' is selected, then a schedule can be set to automatically create reports.
    *If "Create Report" is selected in step 7, then this item will not be displayed.
  11. Set the sending of email. [More detail]
    To receive notification e-mail whenever a report is completed, select "Set" and enter the email address.
    *If 'Create Report' is selected in step 6, then this item will not be displayed.
  12. Click [Create] to create the new report.
    To display and verify the created report, use 'Created report' in the "Performance Report" screen.
    It is also possible to create a report using the created template by clicking the "Create Report" link under "Template List."

1. Report Type [Back to Step 1]

Select the report type. It is possible to create a separate report for each hierarchical level such as account or campaign, where the ad displayed, in order to review data for your purpose.

  • Account Report: Report Statistic data for your entire account.
  • Campaign Report: Statistic data by campaigns.
  • Ad Group Report: Statistic data by ad groups.
  • Ad Report: Statistic data by ads.
  • Label Report: Actual results in label unit.
  • Destination URL Report: Statistic data by destination URL.
  • Placement Report: Actual results of URL where your ads appeared. 
  • Frequency Report: Statistic data by frequency of ad display.
  • Reach Report: Actual results of reaches (number of unique users whom ads were shown), etc. (data on and after September 17, 2019)

 

Tips
The setting items vary depending on the selected report.

2. Display by [Back to Step 2]

Up to four units are available as report items. (Up to 2 units for Placement Report and Frequency Report.)
To add new items, click [+Add Items].
You can select the same item once. Some combinations of items are unavailable.

  • "Display by" Items:
    - Ad Distribution
    - Month
    - Day
    - Time
    - Devices
    - OS
    - Web/App
    - Carrier
    - Ad Style/Image Type
    - Media Name
    - Prefecture
    - Prefecture/City/Ward/County
    - Gender
    - Age

    - Search Keyword

Tips
  • Items you can select in the "Display by" depend on the "report type."
  • "Infeed Ads" won't be reported when you select "Placement Report" for "Report Type" in Step 1, or when you select "Site Category" on "Display by" in Step 2.
  • If predictive targeting option was enabled for gender and age before February 26, 2019, it appears as "set item" and "set item (Predicted)", after February 27, 2019.
  • After the change of the range in age targeting applied on September 19, 2018, the report data outputs as follows in the case of adding "Age" as an option of "Display by."
    • Data of August 2018 and before:
      - data of Age / 6-11 is summarized on the column of Age / 6-12
      - data of Age / 12-14 is summarized on the column of Age / 13-14
    • Data of September 2018:
      Age / 6-12 includes:
      - data of "Age / 6-11 before September 19, 2018
      - data of "Age / 6-12 after September 19, 2018
      Age / 13-14 includes:
      - data of Age / 12-14 before September 19, 2018
      - data of Age / 13-14 after September 19, 2018
    • Data of October 2018 and after:
      Reported as listed in items.

3. Items Displayed [Back to Step 3]

Select the items to reflect in the created report, from "default' and 'options." To review/revise items to be displayed, click "Open Items." Items selected will appear in the report.

4. Sorting Displayed Items [Back to Step 4]

You can sort items selected.
To sort, drag and drop the item.
When you want to use the default setting, click [Back to Default Order].

5. Period [Back to Step 5]

The period in which reports are aggregated can be selected.
Select the desired period from the items displayed in the pull-down menu.
*When performance reports are created for each day, the reports will be sorted by cost.
To verify reports sorted by date, download the reports and then sort by date.

Note
Performance data won't contain the data of the day when you created the report.

6. Filter [Back to Step 6
Using the filters, you will be able to narrow down the data on reports as needed. See the following steps to use filters.

6.1. Click [Add Items].
6.2. Select any report items to be filtered on the setting lines, then specify conditions for each item.

Tips
  • By clicking [Add Items], a setting field for filter is added. Up to 5 settings are available.
  • Multiple filters for a report item are not available.
  • Available filtering conditions vary according to selected report item.
  • Using 'not equal to' which is selectable for Campaign ID or so, the data which exactly match the specified string will be excluded from the output.

7. Create Option [Back to Step 7]

Select the report creation method.

  • Create Report: Only create this report.
  • Create Report and Template: Create the report and a template based on the set conditions.

A template can create reports on a regular basis. In addition, you can use the same setting when you create a report next time.


10. Schedule of creating report [Back to Step 10]

You can set the schedule of creating report when [Create Report and Template] is selected from [Create Option].
The schedule can be set to create reports on a regular basis using the same conditions, either "Daily", "Weekly (Specified Day of Week)", or "Day of Every Month."

  • One-time : creates a report once.
  • Daily : creates a report every day based on the defined template.
  • Weekly (Specified Day of Week) : creates a report on the specified day of every week based on the defined template. Select the day to create.
  • Day of Every Month : creates a report on the specified day of every month based on the defined template.
    If the monthly date is set to the end of the month, then the report will be created on the day before for any month that does not have that date.
    (If the 29 through 31 is selected as the date to create the report, the report creates on the last day of the month.)
Note
When matching all of the following conditions on the first day of every month, periodic reporting will stop and the schedule will be changed to ”One-time.”
<Conditions>
  • Schedule for creating templates are set as “Everyday,” “Weekly (Specified day of week),” or “Select Date (Schedule Every Month).”
  • In past 25 month, data of impressions, clicks, or conversions are 0 in the report data.
    *You can edit the schedule after the template setting is changed to “One-time.”
    *The setting is changed based on report on the first day of every month regardless of weekends and holidays.

11. Sending E-mail [Back to Step 11]

If you selected "Create Report and Template" in Step 6, an alert mail will be sent when the report is ready.
To send e-mail, check the [Set] checkbox and set the e-mail address.
To send e-mail to the displayed e-mail address, select the checkbox.
To add an e-mail address for sending e-mail, click [+Add Email Address].
To delete a registered e-mail address, click [Delete] to the right of the e-mail address entry field.

Tips
  • Created reports can be reviewed for a week after creation.
  • Conversions will be counted on the day when the original click for the conversion occurs, or on the day when a video view (paid view) occurs, not on the day when the conversion occur. Therefore in the case when the conversion occur within 30 days after original click of the ad or after the paid video view, conversions may increase.
