Precautions
Character limits for components
Items on the Importing Template

You can prepare of the import template by following the steps below.

Steps
  1. Click the "Display Ads" tab of the Campaign Management Tool.
  2. Click the account name to import data.
  3. Click the arrow of the [Campaigns] tab, then select 'Import Campaigns' from the drop-down menu.
    Or click the 'Import Campaigns' on the left navigation panel, then click 'Import.'
  4. Click the 'Download template (CSV)' on the right hand side of the 'Import' screen.
  5. Enter required items on the file template for importing and then save the file.
  • 'CSV' is a versatile file format used for spreadsheets like MS-Excel or several database software. The file extension is 'csv'.
  • When adding/editing ads into the ad group which already exists in your campaign, you can download the campaign and use it for importing.
  • The maximum file size for importing is 20MB before zipped. The maximum limit of the file size is common for all type of devices.
  • Once the importing process is completed, you can specify the file for next importing.
Note
  • Editorial Review will be required for the imported information.
  • For each ad submitted, we perform editorial reviews via the system and visual inspection. It can take up to 3 business days to show the ad you submitted. As we are regularly reviewing the advertising policies, the ad already running will also be subject to the review. If the review indicates that your ad violates a policy, we will stop showing it.
  • 'Video Ads' and 'PC Brand Panel (Video)' are available for specific advertisers.
    These advertisers have 'Video Ads' and 'PC Brand Panel (Video)' in 'Ad Distribution' when creating a campaign.

< Precautions >

  1. Please make sure to save the file as '.csv' or '.tsv' after selecting 'Unicode text' for the file format.
  2. Do not put keywords and ads (title, description, URL) longer than the character limit. See the table below for details.
  3. Do not edit the names on the header line of the file.
  4. Leave the error message as is/blank when importing.
  5. Required item(column) differs depending on component type. Please refer the following page for the details.

*The following item names are for descriptive purposes only. Download the latest template.

Item name Description
Campaign Name The unique name to identify a campaign.
Up to 50 characters can be entered.
This column must be filled out for every row in the spreadsheet.
Ad Group Name The unique name to identify an ad group. Up to 50 characters can be entered.
This column must be filled out for every row on components under the ad group (i.e. ad group, ad, keyword and negative keyword) in the spreadsheet.
Component Type

Select one from the following:
Campaigns
Ad Groups
Ads
Targeting
Campaign Label
Ad Group Label
Ad Label

This column needs to be filled.
This item can only be used to add new components. It cannot be used to edit existing components.
To revise images which have been already imported, you need to put ‘image’ on this ‘Component Type’. More details on the image and logo as follows.
<Image>

  • Editable ; Display Settings, Media name
  • Required on the template ; Component Type, Display Settings, Media name, Media ID.

<Logo>

  • Editable ; Media name
  • Required on the template ; Component Type, Display Settings, Media name, Media ID (Logo)

<Video Thumbnail>

  • Editable ; Media name
  • Required on the template ; Component Type, Display Settings, Media name, Media ID (video thumbnail)
Note
Required items to be entered depend on the Component Type. See below to learn more details.
Import Setting Items
Display Setting You can set the Display Settings of the specified components. Enter ‘On’, ‘Off’ or 'Delete' on this column. If the component is 'Targeting' leave this column as blank. Note that the Display Settings for Logo Image can be set as 'On' only.
  • On: ads are ready to be displayed.
  • Off: suspend displaying ads.
  • Delete : delete specified ads.
Display Status When you download data of existing campaigns, you can review the status (ready to be displayed, paused) on the file. Do not revise this information. When you create a new template, leave this column as blank.
Targeting When the Component type is 'Targeting', enter 'On' or 'Off'.
  • On: Targeting will be set.
  • Off: Targeting setting will be deleted.
Leave this column blank with other Component types.
Targeting Type Set any Targeting Type when you set targeting on ad groups. [More Detail]
Targeting Settings

You can specify the day or hours for Day of Week/Hours Targeting, or ages for Age Targeting, or other targeting settings on this column. [More Detail]

Note
  • Targeting Settings need to be specified one by each line. Add a line when setting multiple targetings.
  • When setting predicted users for 'Age' and 'Gender' targetings, enter the age and gender.
Predicted Users Enter 'On' when setting predicted users for 'Age' and 'Gender' targetings. For other targetings leave this column blank.
Bid Adjustment Enter Bid Adjustment rate for the targeting with single byte numbers from '-90' to '100.'
  • Set from '1' to '100' : Bid will be increased from 1% to 100%.
  • Set from '-1' to '-90' : Bid will be decreased from 1% to 90%.
  • Set 0 :Bid will not be adjusted.
Set Bid Adjustment Rate for Each Targeting
Bid Enter bid for ad group or ad. For the Component Type 'Ad Group' or 'Ad', bid amount value is required information on the importing template, you need to put the value with half-width numerals.
When you apply ad group bid for ad, enter 'actual bid value for ad group (Bulk Bid)' or just '(Bulk Bid)' for Bid.
For example, when your ad group bid is 999JPY, enter any of these 2 samples below.

  <For ads with distribution type 'Targeting' and 'Infeed'>
  • Enter the amount you bid for one click ranging from 1 to 50,000 yen.
  • Enter the amount that does not exceed your campaign daily budget
    <For ads with distribution type 'Video Ads' and 'PC Brand Panel (Video)'>
  • Enter the amount you bid for 1,000 views ranging from 100 to 1,000,000 yen. Also make sure that the bid amount does not exceed the campaign daily budget.
Ad Name The name which identifies the ad. Up to 50 characters can be entered. Enter a name for all ads lines on the template.
Title The title portion of your ad creative. Text length varies for devices and Ad Type. [More Detail]
Description1

Enter ad description for selected device and ad type. [More Detail]
When you select Ad Type ‘Static Frame(300x250)’ and layout ‘Square Banner (Top)’, you don’t need to enter ‘Description 1’.

Text creative for Ad Type 'Responsive (image)' may be cropped or hidden to fit the ad space where it’s displayed.
Description2

For Ad Type 'Text (description 19-19)', enter the description text for the second line. Up to 19 characters.

Display URL

The URL displayed on your ad. Up to 29 characters for PC/Smartphone/Tablet.

Note
For Ad Style 'Display', entered Display URL is not displayed as a part of your ads.
Not needed for the Mobile App campaign: fixed value based on "App OS" set on the campaign will be set.
Destination URL The URL to be linked when users click your ad. Up to 1024 characters for PC/Smartphone/Tablet.
Third-party script tag src attribute URL Enter the URL which is described on the src attribute of tracking script tag provided by recommended analytics partners. When you don't use, you can leave as blank.
Impression Beacon URL Enter the appropriate URL when you use a 3rd party's tool which can connect impression data. When you don't use, you can leave as blank.
Viewing Beacon URL (start) Enter the appropriate URL when you use a 3rd party's tool which can connect video view data. When you don't use, you can leave as blank.
Viewing Beacon URL (3 seconds) Enter the appropriate URL when you use a 3rd party's tool which can connect video view data. When you don't use, you can leave as blank.
Viewing Beacon URL (10 seconds) Enter the URL provided by tool vendor when connecting video view data to a tool which support video view data linkage, or when linking data to a tool which can track app install (via video view) on mobile app campaign. When you don't use, you can leave as blank.
Viewing Beacon URL (25%) Enter the URL only when connecting video view data to the tools that can connect video view data. When you don't use, you can leave as blank.
Viewing Beacon URL (50%) Enter the URL only when connecting video view data to the tools that can connect video view data. When you don't use, you can leave as blank.
Viewing Beacon URL (75%) Enter the URL only when connecting video view data to the tools that can connect video view data. When you don't use, you can leave as blank.
Viewing Beacon URL (complete) Enter the appropriate URL when you use a 3rd party's tool which can connect video view data. When you don't use a tool, you can leave as blank. To enter two URLs, divide them with "|" (vertical bar) character.
Button Enter the button label which is required for Ad Type 'Responsive (image)' and 'Responsive (video).' Leave this column as blank for Ad Type 'Text', 'Display.'

*If you leave this column as blank, the text ‘See More’ will be automatically inserted.
Advertiser Indication

To create ad with Ad Type ‘Responsive (image)’ or 'Responsive (video)', you need to enter any of following names with up to 20 characters, company, brand, product or service. Submit only registered trademark for brand, product or service name.
Leave this column as blank for Ad Type ‘Text’ and ‘Display’.

Tips
  • For ad types 'Text' and 'Display', leave this column as blank.
  • For mobile app download campaign, this column can be skipped since the 'app name' which entered for campaign can be set also for Advertiser indication.
Color Theme You can leave this column as blank.
Dynamic Image Extensions It will dynamically add images relevant to your text ads. "On" for activate and "Off" for not to add images automatically.
Dynamic Image Extensions is supported only for the campaigns of the Ad Distribution 'Targeting'.
Campaign Ad Distribution Specify any of Ad Distribution 'Targeting,' 'Infeed Ads,' 'Video Ads,' and 'PC Brand Panel (Video).'
Ad Style Specify the format type of ads. Any of 'Text', 'Display', 'Template' and 'Video' is available.
For "Ad" as Component Type, this is required item, but not required for other component.
Pixel Size Do not edit, item exclusive for download. The information on this column is referable to confirm the size of images when you download your Display Ads or Image information.
Ad Type Enter Ad Type. Required information vary depending on devices to. [More Detail]
Media Name To edit Information (Display setting and Media name) of existing images, enter "Image" for Component Type and specify 'Display Settings', 'Media Name', 'Media ID' only.
To edit "Media name" of existing Logo Image/Video thumbnail, enter "Image" for Component Type specify 'Display Settings', 'Media Name', 'Media ID (Logo)' or 'Media ID (Video thumbnail)'.
*Media name of downloaded file from Campaign List cannot be edited.
List Name When you download, the List Name will be automatically inserted. This item cannot be used for uploading.
  • Site Retargeting : Target List name
  • Search Keyword Targeting : Search Keyword List name
  • Placement Targeting : Placement List name
Daily Budget

Enter a daily amount equals to or more than 100JPY in units of 1JPY. Set 1000 JPY or more when ad distribution type is "Video Ads" or "PC Brand Panel (video)."By setting the campaign budget, the displaying of your ads will be automatically controlled.
In order to set 1,000 JPY for the daily budget, enter "1000" without the "," (comma) symbol.

Note
If you import with this item set blank (no value), the setting will be changed to "Unset."
Campaign Start Date Enter the date you wish to start displaying your ads in a campaign.
If you wish to start on Dec 1, 2014, enter the date as "2014/12/01" or "2014/12/1 (in YYYY/MM/DD format) with half-width characters.
Campaign End Date

Enter the date you wish to finish displaying your ads in a campaign.
If you wish to finish on Dec 1, 2014, enter the date as "2014/12/01" or "2014/12/1 (in YYYY/MM/DD format) with half-width characters.

Note
To set campaign schedule, please specify 'On' for Campaign Display Settings. If you set 'Off', displaying your ads will not start on the specified Campaign Start Date.
If you import with this item set blank (no value), the setting will be changed to "Unset."
Frequency cap (component) You can specify the component to set frequency of your ads display. Enter one of the following components, 'campaign', 'ad group' or 'ad'. Leave it blank if you do not set Frequency Cap.
Note
If you import with this item set blank (no value), the setting will be changed to "Unset."
Frequency cap (period) You can specify the base period to limit frequency cap. Enter one of the following period, 'monthly', 'weekly', or 'daily'. Leave it blank if you do not set Frequency Cap.
Note
If you import with this item set blank (no value), the setting will be changed to "Unset."
Frequency cap (impressions)

You can limit a number of times your ads appear. Enter the value within the range of 1 to 99999, with single-byte numerals. Leave it blank if you do not set Frequency Cap.

If you import with this item set blank (no value), the setting will be changed to "Unset."
Bidding For campaign and ad group, any of the following information is required on this item.
  • ‘Manual bidding’
  • 'Auto bidding (optimize conversion)'
    *The next item 'Target CPA' is also required when you enter the this.
  • 'Apply same setting with campaign'
    *This is available for ad group only.
Target CPA

‘Target CPA’ is required when you enter ‘Auto bidding (optimize conversion)’ on the ‘Bidding’ above.The value 1 – 9,999,999,999 is available for the setting.

Note
  • Conversion Optimization requires 15 or more actual conversion for the campaign (or the parent campaign of the ad group) in the last 30 days. If your data does not meet the required conditions, the import process will show an error message even if you enter the value of Target CPA.
  • When you create a new campaign, Conversion Optimization is not available.
Conversion Optimization Availability Item shown only when downloaded. Availability for conversion optimization can be checked.
Campaign Type

Enter Campaign Type from one of the following.

  • Standard campaign
  • Mobile App Campaign
Tips
“Standard campaign” will be automatically set when left blank.
App ID/Package Name Enter "App ID/Package name" to be promoted.
  • For iOS: App ID
  • For Android: Package Name
App Name Enter "App Name" to be promoted. It will be automatically set as "Advertiser Indication" on Ads.
App OS Enter App OS from one of the following.
  • "iOS"
  • "Android"
Label

Enter label name to set up or remove to campaign, ad group, or ad.

Tips
  • Select one from the following "components":
    Campaign Label
    Ad Group Label
    Ad Label
  • You can't select multiple labels. When selecting multiple labels change the line for each label.
  • Depending on what you want to do (set up or remove labels), entry on 'Display Settings' column will vary.
    • To set up label: enter 'On' or 'Off'
    • To remove label: enter 'Delete'
  • When using the template to import with the Campaign Editor, only removing the labels are not available. It works if you 'set up the and remove labels' at the same time.
Campaign ID A number that uniquely identifies a campaign. Please do not edit this value. You can leave the column in blank only when adding a new campaign.
Ad Group ID A number that uniquely identifies an ad group. Please do not edit this value. You can leave the column in blank only when adding a new ad group.
Ad ID A number that uniquely identifies an ad. Please do not edit this value. You can leave the column in blank only when adding a new ad.
Media ID A number that uniquely identifies an image. Please do not edit this value. To create Display Ads and Template Ads, Media ID of already added images is required.
Media ID (Logo) A number that uniquely identifies an Logo image. Enter Media ID (Logo) of already added images for Ad Type 'Responsive (image)' or 'Responsive (video)'.
When you leave this item as blank in case you create ads of the corresponding Ad Type, your ad will be displayed without Logo image.
Leave the column as blank for Ad Type 'Text' or 'Display'.
Media ID (Video thumbnail) A number that uniquely identifies an video thumbnail.
For ad distribution type 'Video Ads' and 'PC Brand Panel (Video),' enter the information of "Media ID (Video thumbnail)" of added video thumbnail.
Leave the column as blank if you don't use Video Ad feature on your account.
List ID When you download, the List ID will be automatically inserted. This item cannot be used for uploading.
  • Site Retargeting : Target List ID
  • Search Keyword Targeting : Search Keyword List ID
  • Placement Targeting : Placement List ID
Error message When importing error occur, error information can be confirmed. Please leave as blank for importing.

■About Targeting and Targeting Settings

For 'Targeting Type' , you need to put names in the 'Targeting Type' row on the following table. See samples to put the value for the ‘Targeting Settings’

Tips
If any item is not specified as targeting, ads will be displayed as much as possible with the Campaign Type and Ad Distribution method.

Enter Device to deliver ads from one of the following.

  • PC
  • Smartphone

Tips
  • Enter one Device per one row. Enter multiple rows for multiple Devices.
  • When the Ad Distribution is 'Infeed Ads' or 'Video Ads,' 'Smartphone' and 'Tablet' can be set.
  • When the Ad Distribution is 'PC Brand Panel (Static Image)' or ' PC Brand Panel (Video),' 'PC' and 'Tablet' can be set.
  • Default value is automatically set when not specified.

OS iOS

Enter OS to deliver ads with one of the following.

  • iOS
  • Android
Tips
  • Not needed: only deliver ads set for "App OS" when creating Campaign.

Lower limit of OS version 9.0

Lower limit of OS version can be specified. From selected version to the latest version will be targeted OS version.

Tips
Available only for App Campaign.
Web/App App Enter targeted type to deliver ads with one of the following.
  • Web
  • App
Carrier SoftBank|Y!mobile|Others

Enter target carriers (mobile phone company) as following.

  • docomo
  • KDDI
  • SoftBank
  • Y!mobile
  • Others
Tips
Enter one Carrier in one row. When entering multiple Carriers, create multiple rows.
