Use Dynamic Ads for Display on Campaign Editor

Campaign Editor for Display Ads (YDN) supports YDN Dynamic Ads for Display.

Before using the Campaign Editor, set Site retargeting and create Item List file.

Note
  • "Dynamic Ads for Display" is available for specific advertisers. When available, "Item List, Item Set" is displayed in your common library on your Campaign Editor.
  • Data added, changed or deleted in the Campaign Editor are applied to the account data of the Campaign Management tool by uploading. The changes will not be applied to the Campaign Management tool if the Campaign Editor is quit without uploading the data.

Tips
Campaign Editor supports editing ads of “PC Brand Panel (Dynamic Ads for Display)” that displays ads of Dynamic Ads for Display on PC Brand Panel.

Upload and update Item List

Campaign Editor supports uploading and updating Item List on "Item List" dialogue. Follow the steps below.

Steps
  1. Start Campaign Editor for YDN, click "Common Library" at the lower left in the main window.
  2. Click "Item List, Item Set" on the left menu.
  3. Click "Item List".
  4. The Item List appears.
    If there is no Item List on your account, click "Yes" button for the message "No Item List. Create one?", then enter the Item List Name and click "OK" button to complete.

Manual upload

Uploading and updating specified Item list are available with steps below.

Steps
  1. Click "Upload Item List file" on the Item List window.
  2. Item List file is uploaded.
    Click the "OK" button, and then select the video file to add.
    Set up the following items on the Item List Upload window.
    - Import type

    Select any of the following options.
    "Update all"
    -This option replaces whole of the list with newly uploading file contents. Products not on the newly uploading file will be removed from the list.

    "Update Partially"
    -This option rewrites the difference between the current contents of Item List and on the file to be uploaded. There is no effect on items without change.
    "Error check mode"
    -Enable the check box "Enable" for error check only, no upload. When enabled this option, Item List file is not uploaded.

  3. Click the "Upload" button.
  4. The item list file is uploaded.
    If the "Error check mode" is for "Enable" on step.2, error check process runs.
    The status in detail can be referred on the "Item List" dialogue. Click the "Download Error Information" to download and confirm details if there is an error.
Note
  • All updates and partial updates are counted separately. You can upload up to 4 uploads each per day. A failed upload is counted as one upload.
  • In Error check mode, uploading is not counted.

Periodic Upload (scheduled by FTP)

Data feed directly from the Item List file on advertiser's server by YDN system periodically and update Item List with the feed data. This upload method will help you if you need to update the current capacity in stock often in order to synchronize to the value displayed on your ads.
Follow the steps below.

Confirm the following requirement for Periodic upload via FTP.
  • Put the Item List file on your server.
  • The Item List file can be accessed from outside of your system environment.
    If it requires authentication, prepare ID and password before start using Periodic upload.
Steps
  1. Click "Periodic upload setting" on the Item List window.
  2. Set up the following items on the Periodic Upload setting window.
    -Item List URL
    Enter the URL of Item List file on your server. The URL needs to start with "ftp://" or "sftp://", and ending with ".tsv" or ".zip".
    -User name
    Enter the user name (ID) to login to your server.
    -Password
    Enter the password to login to your server.
    - Import type
    Select any of the following options.
    "Update all"
    -This option replaces whole of the list with newly uploading file contents. Products not on the newly uploading file will be removed from the list.
    "Update Partially"
    -This option rewrites the difference between the current contents of Item List and on the file to be uploaded. There is no effect on items without change.
    -Schedule
    Select frequency of Periodic upload. Following options are available as frequency.
    "Hourly"
    -Select this option to upload twice or more a day.
    -Select frequency from 12 levels : "hourly interval" "every 12 hours"
    "Daily"
    -Select this option to upload daily. Specify the designated time of day.
    "Weekly"
    -Select this option to upload weekly on the scheduled day of the week, and time of day.
    -Specify the designated day of week and time of day.
    "Status"
    -Select "Active" in usual case.
    -If you need to stop uploading after setting the Periodic upload, select 'Inactive' option.
    Note
    All updates and partial updates are counted separately. You can upload up to 4 uploads each per day. When select "Hourly" option, make sure whether the setting exceeds the maximum 4 uploads per day or not.
    Example:
    If you set "Every 2 hours", the system uploads on 0:00am, 2:00am, 4:00am, 6:00am as for Periodic upload. However after 6:00am, no upload occurs since it has done 4 uploads per day.
  3. Click the "OK" button.
    The status of uploading can be seen on Upload history. Reconfirm whether the uploading occurs on designated frequency or schedule after complete setting.
Tips
  • Before starting Periodic upload, checking whether there is any change on Item List file after the last upload will be processed. If there is no change on the file, Periodic upload does not occur. The number of uploads does not count.
  • Using the setting of Periodic upload, "Upload now" process which can upload the file immediately is also available. It will help you if you need to apply the latest capacity in stock or updated price for products on your website.
    To process "Upload now", click the "Upload now" button besides the "Periodic upload" field, then click "Submit" button after confirming the specification.
    Up to 4 times of "Upload now" are available per day. This number of uploads is included in the counts of manual uploads.

Change Item List Name

Click ”Change Item List Name” on the Item List window. Enter the new name on ”Item List Name” field, then click ”OK” button.

Delete Item List

Before deleting Item List, delete all Dynamic Ads for Display campaigns. In addition, don't leave editing data on the Campaign Editor.

You can delete Item List when no Dynamic Ads for Display campaign, ad group or ad.

Create and delete Item Set

You can sort items in the Item List with Item Set on Dynamic Ads for Display. You can create and deliver ads of items that has different categories or targeting by ad group unit by setting up the Item Set to the ad group.

Up to 30 Item Sets are available per account. Follow the steps below to create and delete Item Set.

Note
  • When you create Item List, the default Item Set is automatically created. You can't delete default Item Set that includes all items in the Item list.
  • You can't edit the Item Set. Delete the Item Set created and create a new one.

Create Item Set

Steps
  1. Start Campaign Editor for YDN, click "Common Library" at the lower left in the main window.
  2. Click "Item Set" on the left menu of Common Library window.
  3. Click "Create Item Set".
  4. Ad field is added at the bottom of data area, set each item in the data details area or data area.
    -Item Set Name
    Enter the name of Item Set up to 50 characters.
    -Item Set conditions
    Specify the item, details, and how they match with the rule. Up to 10 rules are available per Item Set.
    Click "Details" to select following items.
    -Click "Category ID" and select the item.
    -Enter or select details for condition
    -Click "equals" and select how they match the rule.

    Settings vary depending on the items. Learn more about_Available items for item list rule.

    Click "Add condition" to add condition. You can combine OR condition and AND condition.
    *To add OR condition (meeting one or more rules), click "+ Add rule" in the gray background.
    *To add AND condition (meeting all of the rules), click "+ Add rule" under gray background.
  5. When the error in red disappears, adding condition is completed.

Item Set created must be set up to the ad group.

Delete Item Set

Steps
  1. Start Campaign Editor for YDN, click "Common Library" at the lower left in the main window.
  2. Click "Item List, Item Set" on the left menu.
  3. Select Item Set to delete and click "Delete."
Note
  • You cannot delete default Item Set.
  • Item Set which has already been setup to ad group cannot be deleted. Before deleting, you need to release the setup to ad group.

Create Dynamic Ads for Display campaign, ad group, and ads

After review completes on uploaded Item list, you can create campaigns, ad groups, and ads with Dynamic Ads for Display .

Note
Dynamic Ads for Display is available only with standard campaign. Mobile app campaign doesn't support Dynamic Ads for Display.

Create campaigns of Dynamic Ads for Display

Select following items when creating a campaign.

[for campaigns of Display Ads (YDN)]

  • Campaign type
    Select "Standard campaign"
  • Ad distribution
    Select "Dynamic Ads for Display" or "PC Brand Panel (Dynamic Ads for Display)”.

[for campaigns of Display Ads (Auction)]

  • Campaign goal
    Select "Item list promotion"

Create a campaign

Create ad group for Dynamic Ads for Display

Create an ad group under Dynamic Ads for Display campaign.
Set following items when creating an ad group.

  • Item Set
    Click "Select Item Set" and select Item Set to set up. Click the "OK" button. If you have not yet created the Item Set, set up "Default item set."
  • Site Retargeting
    Setup Target List that you created on Target Lists window. If you have not yet created Target List, you can setup "Default List" that is automatically created on setting Site retargeting with the setting "Allow".
    Setting Target List with 'Allow' is mandatory. Note that the Target List (Similar) is not available for Dynamic Ads for Display.

Tips
  • To create and deliver ads with various contents by Item Set, you need Targeting setting for age, gender, geographic location and so on.
  • When selecting ad distribution type “PC Brand Panel (Dynamic Ads for Display)” for campaign, “PC” and “Tablet” are available as an option for device targeting.
