Create Ad Display Option (QuickLinks)

You can follow the steps below to create new QuickLinks for your advertising campaign.

Following guidelines are to be checked before using QuickLinks.

Create QuickLinks

Steps
  1. Click the [Search Ads] tab of the Campaign Management Tool.
  2. Click the [Administration] tab.
  3. Select the target account on the Account List.

  4. Click the "Disp.Option" from “Select Items” , then select the QuickLinks.

  5. Click the [Option List] sub-tab, then click the [+Create/Edit Options] button.
    * 'Create one' is for creating one by one, 'Create in bulk' is for creating multiple options at one time.

  6. The dialog 'Create QuickLinks' appears. Steps are thus below.

Create a single 'QuickLinks'

Steps
  1. Open the "Create QuickLinks" page.

  2. Enter the required information on the page.
    See "Available length of QuickLinks" to check how many characters are available for each QuickLinks items. And available symbol character are described on "Ad Specifications for QuickLink Options."
    • QuickLink Text (required)
      Enter the headline of QuickLinks ad displayed as a result of the ad user’s search.
    • QuickLink description 1, QuickLink description 2
      Enter description text (QuickLink description) to be shown. These are not required items, but when you use you need to enter both of QuickLink description 1 and 2. Note that you cannot enter the same text for both.
    • Landing Page URL (required)
      Enter the URL of the page displayed when ad user clicks Ad Display Option.
    • Smartphone Landing Page URL
      Enter the URL of the page displayed when ad user clicks Ad Display Option over his/her smartphone, if you have separated pages for advertising both on PC and Smartphone environement. If you don't have page for Smartphone, or can be browsed with a same URL for both environment, you can skip setting of this entry.
    • URL Option
      This field allows to set the information to track ad performance.
      - Tracking URL
      To obtain data such as click information, place the URL for the ad tracking within this field.
      - Custom Parameter
      To place any strings (to obtain ad performance data), enter Parameter Name and Parameter Value as a set.

    Note
    • Please note the followings when entering QuickLink Text with a space and a half-width Japanese kana character. The system will change or delete your entry of the following cases:
      ‐Full-width space is entered: It will be replaced by a half-width space.
      ‐Half-width Japanese kana character is entered: It will be replaced by a full-width Japanese kana character.
      ‐A space is entered sequentially: One space will be left and the rest of spaces will be deleted.
    • Up to four QuickLinks can be displayed at a page for ad distribution on Yahoo! JAPAN main search. (Please note that the maximum number of available QuickLinks on a page for ad distribution may change without notification.)
    • A part of QuickLink text may be displayed as "..." when your ad delivered.
    • When the followings; QuickLinks Text, Landing Page URL, Smartphone Landing Page URL, Tracking URL, Customr Parameter are entered the editorial review will be executed. Please refer to the following page for the editorial review status.

  3. When you create a QuickLink to be delivered to Smartphone preferentially, enable the checkbox of 'Focus Smartphone' on 'Focus Device'.
    Note
    Two or more QuickLinks set up to a campaign or an ad group are required in order to display the QuickLinks for Smartphone preferentially. Also note that the Smartphone focus QuickLinks may be displayed for PC/Tablet.
  4. Enter schedule to set a start and end date of QuickLinks.

    Click "Add Setting (Schedule)" to enter start and end date for Call Extensions. As default setting, start and end date is not set.
    Select a radio button besides the date entry field, then enter the date, or click the calendar icon to specify start and end date for QuickLinks.
    You can specify "Not set" for starting, or any specific date is available. For ending, you can specify "Not set" or any date. However someday in the past is not available both for start and end date.
    *Day of week/hours are based on JST.

    Note
    • If you've set start/end date, day of week/hours also on the campaign setting, your ad display option will be displayed during the common window.

     

  5. Set Targeting to specify day of week or
    Day of Week/Hours for QuickLink Options are also available. You can setup with the following steps, by 15mins/unit.

  6. Click the [Create] button.

    Note
    • Even though multiple QuickLinks are link to a campaign or an ad group, no common window for displaying ads and active QuickLinks exits less than 2, your QuickLinks will not be displayed because there is not enough links for QuickLinks.

Create multiple 'QuickLinks' in bulk

Steps
  1. Open the "Create/Edit QuickLinks in bulk" page.

  2. Following the data entry specifications on the table below, enter the one item per one line delimiting by tab.
    Please note that when you don't need any item of setting, you have to put "tab" delimiter instead of the item.

    When you focus, enter as “Smartphone”.

  3. Click the [Create] button.
Tips
To display created QuickLinks, setup to campaign or ad group is required.

Setup of Ad Display Option
Note that two or more QuickLinks need to be setup to a campaign or an ad group.

Settings of "Tracking URL" and "Custom Parameter" on QuickLinks :

When you have already set the Tracking URL and/or Custom Parameter for your account, campaign, ad group, the setting will be effective for QuickLinks. However when you enable the Tracking URL and Custom Parameter settings for QuickLink itself, the setting for the QuickLink will be prioritized.
* Custom Parameter is not available for the setting on Account level.
* The settings of the component layer which the QuickLink setup to will have no impact for the QuickLink.

Examples
1.
When Tracking URL is enabled for QuickLink:
The setting of QuickLink will be effective on ad delivery.
2.
When Tracking URL is not enabled for QuickLink:
The settings of the upper component layer (account, campaign, ad group) will be effective for the QuickLink on ad delivery.

Available length of QuickLinks

Maximum length of each QuickLinks items are as follows.
