Create Campaign (for Mobile App Download)

To create a new Campaign, please follow the steps below.

Create a Campaign

*It is not required to setup <Option> items.

Steps
  1. Click the [Search Ads] tab.
  2. Click the [Campaigns] tab.
  3. Click the [Create Campaign] button on the top of campaign list, or click "Create New" on the left navigation panel, then select "Create Campaign".
  4. Check the account name to create a campaign.
    Make sure the name displayed for “Account Name” is correct If you are using more than one account, make sure your campaign has been created with the desired account.

    If the appropriate account name is not displayed, click the [Campaigns] tab. You can click the [Select Account] on the left navigation panel, then select an appropriate account from the list.
  5. <Option> “Use Existing Settings”
    You can apply the same settings with existing campaign (budget, how to deliver ads) or recommended settings for your new campaign.
    Click [Reflect settings of an existing Campaign (Option)] > [Select from Templates] or [Select from Existing Campaigns] and then select the template or campaign.
    Note
    When you create a new campaign with "Reflect settings of an existing Campaign (Option)", max. 100 negative keywords can be copied in chronological order. If you like to add more than 101 negative keywords in the campaign, add them after creating the campaign.
  6. Select "Mobile App Download Campaign" for the Campaign Type.
  7. Enter a campaign name.
    Naming the campaign using your service name, product category, etc. is a good idea.
  8. <Option> "Schedule"
    You can set any date for the Campaign. Default settings are "from Today" for the start date and "No End Date" for the end date.
    *Past date is not allowed for Start and End date.
    *When you select “from Today” to save campaign, “Start Date” is not editable.
    When changing the dates:
    -Click [Option setting (Schedule)].
    -Select the radio button next to the date entry field and enter the dates or click the calendar icon.

    Note
    In order to automatically start delivering the ads on the scheduled date, set the start date after setting the display setting 'On'. If you set the display setting 'Off' before the date set, it will not start automatically.
  9. Select OS
    Select OS (iOS/Android) for your Mobile App to promote.
  10. App ID/Package Name (See more)
    Enter "App ID" for iOS, and "Package Name" for Android.
    • You can confirm your App ID for iOS with Apple Store’s App download page URL.Sample of App Store’s App download page URL:http://itunes.apple.com/jp/app/app-example/id#########
      Note
      When you create a campaign specifying App ID of any brand new app on App Store, it may take time to start displaying ads of the campaign.
    • You can confirm your Package Name for Android with Google Play App download page URL and as well as Google Play App details page.

  11. Enter an amount for "Campaign Daily Budget".
    The daily budget must be 100 yen or more, enter a value in increments of 100 JPY. The system will automatically adjust the frequency of ad display to meet the daily budget.
  12. Select bidding .
    Select a bidding from the 'Bidding' pull-down menu.

    Bidding setting on Campaigns

    For ‘Auto Bidding’
    Select 'Bidding type'.

    Tips
    To set different values for each campaign, select 'Standard bidding,' and to use fixed value, select 'Portfolio bidding' when auto bidding is selected.
    With Standard bidding
    When you select following Auto bidding types with Standard bidding, enter value for each item.
    - Maximize Clicks and Standard bidding: Bid Limit
    - Target CPA and Standard bidding: Target CPA
    - Target ROAS and Standard bidding: Target ROAS

    With Portfolio bidding
    When you select any Auto bidding type with Portfolio bidding, select a name from 'Apply existing Auto bidding name'.
    Tips
    • See the following page for steps to create Portfolio Bidding for Auto Bidding in advance.

    • You can also create a new Portfolio Bidding for Auto Bidding by selecting 'Create New'.
    Note
    • If you edit the Ad Group Bid or the Keyword Bid while you set ‘Auto Bidding’ at the Campaign level, the Ad Group Bid or the Keyword Bid will be applied temporarily. Also if you set the ad display status off after you edit the bids, the ad group bid or the keyword bid will be applied temporarily after the ad display status is set back on.
    •  ‘Target ROAS’ are not available when you create a new Campaign, since there’s no data yet.
    • If you set “iOS” for your OS, ‘Target CPA’ and ‘Target ROAS’ are not available.
    • When you select 'Auto bidding', 'Optimize' will be applied for ad delivery even 'Rotate Evenly' for ad rotation is selected.
    • When you set auto bidding, the bid adjustment for targeting will not be available in some auto bidding settings. See more details on the following help topic.
      Bid Adjustment
    • You cannot set 'Individual CPC (Enhanced CPC)' .
  13. Check "Devices" to deliver ads, and set bid adjustment.
    Ads on standard campaign can be displayed on PC, Smartphone, and Tablet. By setting the bid adjustment, you will be able to change bid depending on device / narrow down the devices to deliver ads.
    Select "Increase/Decrease by" from the pull-down menu for the "Smartphone Bid Adjustment (%)" , then enter any value for adjustment rate on the right.
    • Increase by : 0% - 900% (Put higher bid between 0% - 900%)
    • Decrease by : 1% - 90% (Put lower bid between 1% - 90%), or select "100%"
      Tips
      • The adjustment rate can be changed later.
      • If select the "Decrease by" and put the value "100", your ads will not be delivered to the specific device.
  14. Select "Geographic Location" for displaying your ads.
    You can specify the geographic locations to deliver ads. In addition, automatically adjusting the bid for all keywords in the campaign is possible. Adjusted bid is calculated by "Keyword Bid x Adjust rate."
    Select any of the following options;
    • Do not Set (Display in All Regions): Your ads will be delivered regardless of location.
    • Set (Display in Selected Regions Only):You can select locations to display ads. Not delivering to specified location is also available.

      Tips
      You can also copy the Geographic Targeting settings from the existing campaigns with following steps. Click the [Options (copy settings of 'Geo Targeting' from an existing campaign)]. Select and click a Campaign you want to copy from, on the “Copy settings of 'Geo Targeting' from an existing campaign” page.
      Review the Targeting settings displayed on the right , and click the [Submit] button.


      *You can select all of Campaigns under the account you own. campaigns without Geographic Targeting settings are also listed as items you can copy.
  15. Specify "Day of Week / Hours" to display your ads.
    You can set day of week and hours to deliver ads in unit of 15 minutes. In addition, the bid for all keywords in the campaign can be changed automatically. This is useful to control the bid on particular days of the week or times of the day.

    This is useful to control the bid on particular days of the week or times of the day.

    Select one of the following options.
    • Do not Set (display at all times): Ads are displayed at all times with no limits based on days of the week or hours.
    • Set (display only on specified days of week and hours): Allows you to set which days of the week and which hours your ads will be displayed.
      Charts will be displayed, so please refer to the following to make the appropriate settings. [more detail]
      Tips
      You can copy the Day of Week / Hours settings from the existing campaigns with following steps.
      Click the [Options (copy settings of 'Day of Week/Hours' from an existing campaign)]. Select and click a Campaign you want to copy from, on the “Copy settings of 'Day of Week/Hours'
      from an existing Campaign” page. view the Targeting settings displayed on the right , and click the [Submit] button.

  16. <Option>"Ad Distribution"
    The following two types of ad distribution can be selected. "All Ad Distribution" is set as default. When changing the setting:
    1. Click [Option setting (Ad Distribution)].
    2. Select a method.
    • All Ad Distribution :
      Ads will be displayed on the destination site from search result pages and from recommended keyword results.
    • Search only:
      Ads will only be displayed on search result pages.
  17. <Option>"Negative Keywords"

    When negative keywords are set, the ads will not be delivered when searched with these keywords.
    Use the following procedure to set negative keywords for your campaign.

    1. Click the [Option setting (Negative Keywords)].
    2. Enter negative keyword(s) in the entry column.
    3. Select the match type from the pull-down menu, then click the [Add] button.

    *Enter one negative keyword per line.
    *You can also set match types when setting the negative keywords. Refer to the link below for more information about negative keywords:

    Tips

  18. Setting up "URL options".
    To enable the setting of Tracking URL for the campaign, you can learn the details on the following help topic.

  19. Save the Campaign
    Click the [Save and Create Ad Group] button to save your created Campaign.
    It completes the creating Campaign process. The next step is to create Ad Group.

Tips
  • Auto creation of conversion setting with conversion type ‘App Download’ will be done when a new campaign is created in the Campaign Management Tool or Campaign Editor after November 8, 2017 JST.
  • Create and edit setting of ‘Ad Rotation’ on campaign level has sunset on January 24, 2018. The ‘Ad Rotation’ setting feature became available on ad group level.

Note
Ad Customizer is not available with Campaign type "Mobile App download." It can only be used with Standard Campaign.


15. Geographic Setting [Back to Step15]


(1)Select area
You can select your target prefectures on the table. Click the "+" button at the left of each Prefecture name to expand their shi/ku/cho/son names list. Click “On” button besides each prefecture names to display your ads to the area. Click the "Exclude" button besides the area name to add to excluded regions list on the right You can select multiple areas to set "On" and "Exclude".

(2)Target Area
You can review selected prefectures and Bid Adjustment rate. Click “x” to release the selected area.
The Bid Amount for all Keywords can be changed within the specified range automatically. Enable any prefecture to adjust the Bid, then click the “Adjust Bid” button on the top.
Also you need to select “Increase by” or “Decrease by” from the pull-down menu. Specify adjustment rate on the right field and press [OK].
Adjusted Bid is calculated with Keyword Bid and Bid Adjustment rate.
*The bid ranges are available for adjustment. (in increment of 1%, single-byte numerals). The default setting is "Increase by :0%".

  • Increase by : 0% – 900% (Put higher bid between 0% – 900%)
  • Decrease by : 1% – 90% (Put lower bid between 1% – 90%)

(3)Excluded Area
The excluded geographic area which you specified can be listed on the table. Click “x” to release the specified area.

(4)Location Targeting Options, Location Exclusion Options
You can select the conditions used for location targeting and location exclusion. To set “Location Targeting Options” select one from the options below.

  • Location of user, Location included in search query, Location of interest (recommended, default):
    Your ads will be displayed to users who may be in the target area, who searched with queries related to the targeted area, who may be interested in the target area.
  • Location of user:
    Your ads will be displayed to the internet users who may exist in the specified regions only.
  • Location included in search query, Location of interest:
    Your ads will be displayed to users who searched with queries related to the targeted area, who may be interested in the target area.

*When you set the option “Location of user” or “Location included in search query, Location of interest” , the impressions of your Ads may be decreased. In order to avoid the loss of opportunity, we recommend you to confirm the actual status of your Campaigns.

To set “Location Exclusion Options” select one from the options below.

  • Location of user, Location included in search query, Location of interest:
    Your ads will not be displayed to users who may stay in the targeted area, who searched with queries related to the targeted area, who may be interested in the area.
  • Location of user (default):
    Your ads will not be displayed to users who may stay in the targeted area.

< About the Inconsistency of specified Geographic Area >

Please note that when any target city or town is included in the excluded area, your Ads may not be displayed to audience in the target city or town.

Example
  • Specified Target Area : Aomori-city of Aomori-prefecture
  • Specified Excluded Area : Aomori-prefecture

In this case, Aomori-city is included in Aomori-prefecture.
If there is any error on the settings of Geographic Targeting, the system will alert you once you finish the setting operation.

16. Day of Week/Hours [Back to Step16]


(1)Ads will be displayed to users during the time frame you enable the setting for any hours and day of week.
(2)Colored in light-blue to clarify which times and days of the week are currently set for display. Your ads will not be displayed during the time frame uncolored (in white). All time frame is set light-blue in the default setting.
To change display time, click the “Change Settings” link for each Days of the Week or click the [+Add Settings] button displayed at the top of the chart. You can also click “Add” link which appears when you put your mouse on the uncolored space.
On the “Add Settings” page, enter display times and Bid Adjustment To delete the currently set days of the week and hours, click the “Delete” link. After making your settings, click the [Add Settings] button.

Bid Adjustment for Day of Week / Hours can be specified as follows.

  • Increase by : 0% – 900% (raise bid between 0% – 900%)
  • Decrease by : 1% – 90%  (lower bid between 1% – 90%)

*This setting is available in JST.
*You can set up to 6 units per day.

Tips
Multiple settings can be added to the same day. To add settings, click the [+Add Settings] button displayed at the top of the table.
