Create Templates

You are able to create a template for reports.

Tips
Up to 30 templates can be created on an account.

 

Create a template

Steps
  1. Click the [Search Ads] tab of the Campaign Management Tool.
  2. Click the allow button(▼)of [Report] tab and click the "Performance Report" of the pulldown menu. Or click the [Report] tab.
  3. Click the [Create New Template] button under the template list for Search Ads.
  4. "Report type"
    You can select a type of report to create. Report Types and those summaries are as below.

    Landing Page URL Report, Smartphone Landing Page URL Report

    -The item name, the URL for Smartphone, in Smartphone Landing Page URL Report, is written as “Landing Page URL”.

  5. "Display by"
    Your reports can be displayed by the aggregation units such as Day, Device and Ad Distribution, etc.
    Tips
    • The units that you can select vary according to the type of reports.
    • You can select up to five units for Search Ads.
    • The same units cannot be duplicated.
    • The item selected on "Display by" will be seen on the top column of the created report.
    • “Destination URL Report” has sunset on January 13th, 2016.
      • Data from January 13, 2016 to April 12, 2016 can be downloaded as an alternative report for “Destination URL Report” by adding “Destination URL” to “Items Displayed” when creating Ad Report.
      • To obtain the data after April 13, 2016, please use “Landing Page URL Report”.
    • "Device Targeting Report" has sunset on October 19th, 2016.
      Data by each device is still referable by selecting "device" on 'display by'.
      Note that "Bid Adjustment" by device can be acquired on the campaign report and ad group report. (The adjustment rate on those report is the value as of the report generated)
  6. "Items Displayed"
    Select the items that you would like to include in the report you are creating. In addition to the basic items that must be displayed, you can choose other items to be displayed in the report from the optional items.
    When you check and change the items, click “Open Display Items.” Enable checkboxes for items to be included and disable checkboxes for items you do not wish to include in the report.
  7. "Sort Items Displayed"
    You can sort the items set to be displayed. By dragging and dropping items, you can change their order and sort them as you wish. To restore the original settings, click "Default Order".
    Tips
    The item selected on "Display by" will be seen on the top column of the created report.
  8. "Report"
    You can select the period for which the data for the report is aggregated. You can select a date range from the pull-down menu.
  9. Select "Item"
    You can select the target items to be included in a report. You can designate specific Campaigns, Ad Groups, Ads or Keywords, depending on the type of report you are creating. [more detail]
  10. "Filter"
    Filtering will enable you to specify conditions for reporting. [more detail]
  11. Select a method for creating a template.
    If "Create New Template" is selected, only a template is created.
    If "Create Report and Template" is selected, you can create a template and a report with set conditions.
  12. Item to extract on the report
    Select whether the report includes items without impressions or not.
    Note
    • This option is not available on the following reports, Search query report, Landing Page URL report, Geographic performance report.
    • When you select some items on "Display by", items to be extracted to report are not selectable.
    • Even if you enable “Exclude items with no impressions”, data items with no impressions may appear on reports depending on the account status or ad distribution.
  13. Report Name
    You can name your Report as you like. If you select "Create Template and Report," a Report can be created.
  14. File Format
    You can generate reports in 3 file formats. Select either one of the formats; CSV, TSV, XML or a compressed (ZIP) file.
  15. Schedule
    By setting the schedule, you can choose the timing of the creation of a report accompanying a template, set at regular intervals, from "Everyday," "Weekly (Specified Day of Week)" and "Select Date (Schedule Every Month)."
    If you do not need the report to be created at regular intervals, select "One-time".
    Tips
    If the Select Date is set to fall during the end of the month and the specified date would exceed the last day of a given month, the report will be created on the last day of that month.
    (Note: If the creation date has been as the 29th, 30th, or 31st of the month, the report will be created on the last day of the month without the specified day.)
  16. Notify by Email
    You can have an alert sent to a specific email address when a report is created.
    Tips
    • You can use this function only when you create the Template.
    • You may register up to 5 email addresses to send.
    • If you select "One-time" for the creation schedule, the alert email is not sent to you.
  17. Click [Create] button
    Tips
    • A new template is created by pressing the [Create] button. If "Create Report and Template" is chosen as the "Creation" item, a report is also created at the same time.
    • Please check the "Template List" on the performance report screen to display or edit a template that has been created.

*You can select multiple Campaigns or Ad Groups.
*To select an Ad Group, click the [+] icon displayed before the corresponding Campaign Name, and the Ad Groups for that Campaign will be displayed.
*Ad Display Option Report will be provided with fixed data items only. Data item list on the report is non-optional.

<Select Campaign or Ad Groups as Item>

  1. Under Items, select the radio button for "Selected Campaign" or "Selected Ad Group".
    *Varies depending on the type of report.
  2. Click "Add," displayed at the extreme right of the corresponding campaign name or ad group name shown under "Select Target".
  3. Once the added campaign name or ad group name is listed under "Selected," the corresponding campaign or ad group will be included when the report is created.

To make an ad or keyword an item, select Ad Report or Keyword Report under "Report Type".

<Select Ads or Keywords as Item>

  1. Under Items, select the radio button for "Selected Ad Group Ad" or "Selected Ad Group Keyword".
  2. Click "Add," displayed at the extreme right of the corresponding ad group name shown under "Select Target".
  3. Once the added ad group name is listed under "Selected," click "Select Ads" or "Select Keywords," which will be activated in the lower-right corner so that you can click it.
  4. Enable the checkboxes for the ads or keywords you would like to be included as items, and the selected ads or keywords will be included when the report is created.
10. Filter [Back to Step10]

The method for setting Filters is described below.

<Setting Filters>

  1. Click "Open Items".
  2. Click "+Add Items".
  3. Select the filter item you would like to set from the pull-down menu.
  4. Enter the value you would like to set in the entry field, if applicable to the selected item.
  5. Select the condition you would like to set from the pull-down menu, if applicable to the selected item.
  6. Click "Add Items" if you would like to set more than one filter.
Tips
  • You can set up to 5 filter items.
  • The item selected on "Display by" are available for filtering.
