Create a Performance Report

Users with "Admin","Edit", and "Read-only" access can create Performance Reports. Learn more on "Manage account access."
Follow the steps below to create a new Performance Report.

Tips
You can easily create a report by choosing the recommended settings.
With this option, you no longer need to register each setting required for creating a report. See the following link for settings.

*With the end of ad distribution of Interest Match using Search Ads, we finished the service of Performance Report for Interest Match on March 28, 2018.

 

Create a Performance Report

Steps
  1. Click the [Search Ads] tab of the Campaign Management Tool.
  2. Click the allow button(▼)of [Report] tab and click the "Performance Report" of the pulldown menu. Or click the [Report] tab.
  3. Click the [Create New Report] button under "Created Search Ads Reports" or "Created Interest Match Reports".
  4. Select a report type.
    Report Types Summaries of Report
    Account Report Statistics report for the entire account
    Campaign Report Statistics report for each campaign
    Ad Group Report Statistics report for each ad group
    Ad Report Statistics report for each ad
    Tips
    When checking the performance for Dynamic Ads for Search from "Ad Report", Title 1, Title 2, and Landing Page URL will show as "-." To check Titles and Landing Page URLs dilivered as Dynamic Ads for Search, add "Title auto created" and "URL" to "Items Displayed" on "Search Query Report (DAS)."
    Keyword Report Statistics report for each keyword
    *Keyword Report can be selected for Search Ads only.
    Search Query Report Report for each search query (search keyword) for which your ads are displayed
    Landing Page URL Report Report by Landing Page URL.
    *When you set both of Landing Page URL and Smartphone Landing Page URL, the report will provide Landing Page URL only.
    * If you aggregate data by each device, add "device" option on 'Display by' on the report.

    Tips
    • You may have some differences on setting items on reports you select.
    • The Auto Bidding Report may take a few days to be updated.
    • Search Ads "Destination URL Report" is out of service since January 13th, 2016.
      -You can download an alternative report for the data between January 13 to April 12, 2016, by adding "Destination URL" to "Items Displayed" when creating "Ad Report".
      -To obtain the data after April 13, 2016, you can use “Landing Page URL Report”.
    • “Device Targeting Report” has sunset on October 19th, 2016.
      -Data by each device is still referable by selecting “device” on ‘display by’. Note that “Bid Adjustment” by device can be acquired on the campaign report and ad group report. (The adjustment rate on those report is the value as of the report generated)

     

  5. "Display by"
    It allows you to select the units by which the data is aggregated, such as a day, week, month, quarter, year, day of the week, device, type of Ad Distribution or so. To set this, click "[Add Item]", and then select aggregation units from the pull down menu.
    Tips
    • You can specify settings for combinations of up to five aggregation units.
    • The units that you can choose from vary depending on the type of report you select.
    • You cannot specify the same item multiple times.
    • Selected items on the "Display by" will be seen on the top column of the created report.
  6. "Items Displayed"
    Select items you would like to show in the report from "Items Displayed".
    In addition to the basic items that must be displayed, you can also choose other optional items to add to the report.
    Enable the checkboxes for items to be included and disable checkboxes for items you do not wish to include in the report.
  7. "Sort Items"
    The items set to be displayed can be sorted. Drag and drop can be used to change the sorting. To restore the default settings, click [Back to Default Order].
    Tips
    - Reported data items will be in descending order of the first item selected in “Sort Items”.
    - To check reports by date, download the reports and change to a “by date” format.
  8. Select the reporting period.
    You can select the period for which the data for the report is aggregated. You can select a date range from the pull-down menu, or choose “Select Date” to designate specific start/end dates, or choose "Select Month."
    Tips
    Search Ads Performance Reports provide the data after October 11, 2011.
  9. Select a target component.
    You can select the target items to be included in a report. You can designate specific campaigns, ad groups, ads or keywords, depending on the type of report you are creating. [more detail]
    Tips
    You may not have these items, depending on the Report type you selected in the Step 4.
  10. Set filters.
    When you make settings for reports, you can narrow down information to only the necessary items by setting filters.[more detail]
  11. Select a creating report method.
    Here you can select only to create report in progress or to create report and template simultaneously.
    - Report only: Create a report for this time only.
    - Create Report and Template: Creates a report and a template according to the set conditions. By creating a template, periodic reports can be created automatically. It allows you to easily create successive reports under the same settings.
    Tips
    • When creating a template simultaneously, the settings for the report in progress will be saved.

    • If "Create Report and Template" is selected, items from step 15 and step 16 will be displayed.
  12. Select data items to be extracted to report.
    You can select to include or exclude items without impressions within the report.
    Note
    • This option is not available for the following reports:
      Search Query Report, Landing Page URL report, Geographic Performance Report
    • When you select some items on "Select Items", items to be extracted to report are not selectable.
    • Even if you enable "Exclude items with no impressions", data items with no impressions may appear on reports depending on the account status or ad distribution.
  13. Enter a report name.
    If "Create Report and Template" is selected, it will also be used as the template name.
  14. Select a file format for generating the report. Please select from CSV, TSV, XML, and a compressed (ZIP) file in any of the three formats.
  15. Select a report creation schedule
    You can use "Create report and template simultaneously" in "Creation Methods" to set a creation schedule.
    You can choose the creation schedule of a report under the same conditions, set at regular intervals, from "Everyday", "Weekly (Specified Day of Week)" and "Select Date (Schedule Every Month)".
    If you do not need regularly scheduled reports, select “One-time”.
    Tips
    • If "Report Only" is selected in step 11, this item will not be displayed.
    • If the Select Date is set to fall during the end of the month and the specified date would exceed the last day of a given month, the report will be created on the last day of that month. (Note: If the creation date has been as the 29th, 30th, or 31st of the month, the report will be created on the last day of the month without the specified day.)
  16. Notify by Email
    You can have an alert sent to a specific email address when a report is created. If you send reports via email, enable the “Set Recipients” checkbox and specify the relevant email addresses. If you wish to send reports to already displayed email addresses, just enable the corresponding check boxes.
    Tips
    • If you selected “Create Report” in the Step 11, those items will not be displayed.
    • You may add up to 5 email addresses.
    • If you want to add an email address to send to, click [+Add Email Address].  If you want to delete an email address from the list, click “Delete” located to the right of the email address entry column.
    Note
    • The created report will not be attached to the alert email. Downloading report is available on the Campaign Management Tool.
    • If you select “One-time” for the creation schedule, the alert email is not sent to you.
  17. Clicking "Create" will start the creation process for a new report.
    When displaying a created report, check “Created Search Ads Reports” on the Performance Report screen.
    Clicking the “Create Report” link in the “Search Ads Report Template List” allows you to create a report with a created template.

* You can select multiple campaigns or ad groups.
* To select an ad group, click the [+] icon displayed before the corresponding campaign name, and the ad groups for that campaign will be displayed.
* You cannot select a campaign or ad group on the Account report, Ad Display Option report.

9.1. Under Display Target, select the radio button for "Selected Campaign" or "Selected Ad Group".
* Varies depending on the type of report.
9.2. Click "Add," displayed at the far right of the corresponding campaign name or ad group name shown under "Select Target".
9.3. Once the added campaign name or ad group name is listed under "Selected," a report will be created with the displayed content.

9.1. Under Display Target, select the radio button for "Selected Ad Group Ad" or "Selected Ad Group Keyword".
9.2. Click "Add," displayed at the far right of the corresponding ad group name shown under "Select Target".
9.3. Once the added ad group name is listed under "Selected," click "Select Ads" or "Select Keywords," which will be activated in the lower-right corner so that you can click it.
9.4. Enable the checkboxes for the ads or keywords you would like to be included as items, and they will be included when the report is created.

 

10. Filtering [Back to Step10]

When you make settings for reports, you can narrow down information to only the necessary items by setting filters. You can set a threshold value for extracted data to display only data above (or below) the value, etc. This way, advertisers can make customized reports according to their needs. You can set up to 5 filter items.

10.1. Click "Open Items".
10.2. Click [+Add Items].
10.3. Select the filter item you would like to set from the pull-down menu.
10.4. Enter the value you would like to set in the entry field, if applicable to the selected item.
10.5. Select a condition you would like to set from the pull-down menu, if applicable to the selected item.
10.6. Click [+Add Items] if you would like to set more than one filter.

Tips
  • You can set up to 5 filter items.
  • Selected items on the "Display by" will be available for filtering.
