Create Campaign (for Dynamic Ads for Search)

This page describes how to create a new campaign for Dynamic Ads for Search.
*You can skip the <Option> steps.


  1. From the top bar, click "Search Ads."
  2. From the second row of the top bar, click "Campaigns."
  3. From the left navigation menu, click "Create New" and then "Create Campaign."
  4. Check that the account name is correct.
    When you have multiple accounts, make sure you are creating a campaign in the one you wanted.

    If you don't see the account name you want to create a campaign, click "Campaigns" and then "Select account" on the left navigation menu.
  5. <Option> Use Existing Settings
    You can apply the same settings with the existing campaign (budget, how to deliver ads) or recommended settings for your new campaign.
    Click "Reflect settings of an existing Campaign (Option)" > "Select from Templates" or "Select from Existing Campaigns" and then select the template or campaign.
    When you use "Reflect settings of an existing Campaign (Option)," the new campaign copies a maximum of 100 negative keywords (from the oldest to new) from the existing campaign. When you want to add more than 101 negative keywords, add them after creating a campaign.
  6. For campaign type, click "Dynamic Ads for Search Campaign."
  7. Enter a campaign name.
  8. Schedule
    You can set start and end dates for the campaign. The default setting is "from today" to "No end date."
    *You can't select past dates.
    *When you select “from Today” and save the setting, you can't change it later on.
    To change the dates, click "Option setting (schedule)" and enter the dates or click the calendar icon.
    To automatically start your ads on the scheduled date, keep the campaign turned on. If you turn off the campaign before the start date, your ads won't start.
  9. Specify the website
    Select an option for how to specify a website for Dynamic Ads for Search. Select one from the following options and enter the required fields.
    • Entire domain 
      Select "Entire domain" and enter the domain of the website. Don't enter the directory part.
      When you specify domains such as "" and "", subdomains such as "" are included.
      To not include subdomains, use Add Targeting setting and Targeting setting (Exclude) and narrow down the pages. Learn more about What is Targeting Setting.
    • Page feed
      You can select "Page feed" to set page feed created in advance, to deliver ads for some pages under the website.
      A maximum of 60-page feeds can be selected per one campaign. Learn more about What is Page Feed.

      Click "Select Page Feed" and then click "Set up."

    • Use both of entire domain and page feed
      To specify the entire website and page feed, select the option "Entire domain and page feed", then enter the domain and set page feed.
      Enter the domain that is the same as the one specified in the page feed.
  10. Enter "Campaign daily budget."
    The daily budget must be more than 100 JPY (in 100 JPY units). The system controls ad delivery based on this budget.
  11. Select bidding.
    Select bidding from the "Bidding" pull-down menu.

    Bidding setting on Campaigns
    For Manual bidding: individual CPC
    Enable the checkbox of "Enhanced CPC" to activate it.

    For Auto Bidding
    Select "Bidding type."
    To set different values for each campaign, select "Standard bidding," and to use a fixed value, select "Portfolio bidding" when autobidding is selected.
    With Standard bidding
    When you select the following auto bidding types with standard bidding, enter the value for each item.
    - Maximize Clicks : Bid Limit
    - Maximize conversions : optional : Target CPA (optional)
     *When setting the "Target CPA", you need to specify the target value at the entry field.
    - Absolute top placement: placement, target impression share, bid limit
    - Maximize conversion value : optional : Target ROAS (required)
    When selecting "standard bidding", "Target CPA" and "Target ROAS" are optional settings and cannot be set individually.

    With Portfolio bidding
    When you select any auto bidding type with portfolio bidding, select a name from "Apply existing Auto bidding name".
    • See the following page for steps to create portfolio bidding for auto bidding in advance.

    • You can also create a new portfolio bidding for auto bidding by selecting "Create Portfolio bidding".

    • If you edit the ad group bid or the keyword bid while you set "Auto Bidding" at the campaign level, the ad group bid or the keyword bid will be applied temporarily. Also if you set the ad display status off after you edit the bids, the ad group bid or the keyword bid will be applied temporarily after the ad display status is set back on.
    • When you have set and applied the auto bidding setting, even if you select the option “Rotate evenly” on the ad rotation feature, "Optimize" will be applied for your ad delivery.
    • When you have set and applied an auto bidding setting, the bid adjustment will not be available in some conditions. See more detail on the following help page.

  12. You can set "Devices" to deliver ads.

  13. You can select "Geographic Location" for displaying your ads.

  14. You can specify "Day of Week / Hours." 
    You can set days of the week and hours to deliver ads in a unit of 15 minutes. Learn more about Day of week / hours targeting.
  15. <Option>Ad Distribution
    The following two types of ad distribution are available. "All Ad Distribution" is set as default. When changing the setting, click "Option setting (Ad Distribution)" and select a method.
    • All Ad Distribution :
      Ads will be displayed on the destination site from search result pages and from recommended keyword results.
    • Search only:
      Ads will only be displayed on search result pages.
  16. <Option>Negative keywords

    When negative keywords are set, the ads will not be delivered when searched with these keywords.
    Use the following procedure to set negative keywords for your campaign.

    1. Click the "Option setting (Negative keywords)".
    2. Enter negative keywords.
    3. Click "Add."

    *Enter one negative keyword per line.

  17. <Option> URL Option
    Enter it when you want to set the tracking URL or custom parameter for the campaign. Learn more about Tracking Information (Tracking URL and Custom Parameter).
  18. Save the campaign.
    The next step is to create an ad group.
    Create Ad Groups
    "Ad rotation" for campaigns ended on January 24, 2018. Use it on the ad group level.
