What is Search Ads

Ads can be placed alongside the search results and other information displayed on major participating sites in Japan including Yahoo! JAPAN a site that has considerable user pulling power.
Search Ads Partners (in Japanese version) 
The service can place ads alongside not just PC search results but also on other devices such as tablets and smartphones. It also enables you to promote an app for smartphone and/or tablet device.

 

Advertiser can choose any of the following two ad distribution method.

< All Ad Distribution >

Your ads will be displayed on search engine result pages, recommended keyword results.

< Search only >

Your ads will only be displayed on search engine result pages.

Ad delivery mechanism of Search Ads

Search Ads is a search advertising service that displays ads 
with a high degree of relevance to the search keywords (search query) entered by 
internet users who search for products or services on Yahoo! JAPAN search and partner's websites.

* One of ads added to your account will be displayed on each search result page.

* Ad position on the search result page depends on 'Auction rank'. The 'Auction rank' of ad auction is calculated every ad delivery by the bid that advertiser priced and ad quality. See the following help topics to lean about how to decide ad position and ad quality.

Ads and Editorial Review of Ads

Search Ads are displayed when they are judged to have high relevance to the keywords searched for on the search site of Yahoo! JAPAN or other traffic sources. "Ad" is the term covering a set of title, description and URL.

All ads are subject to editorial review based on the editorial guidelines for Yahoo! Ads. Also, as each partner site has its own standards for the ads it displays, it is possible that certain ads will not be displayed on specific partner sites.

Advertising Charges

Search Ads introduced the pay per click billing model whereby an advertising fee is only incurred when an internet user clicks an advertiser’s ad. As no fee is charged just for displaying the ad, unnecessary cost is avoided.

* The advertiser can specify an upper limit on how much they are prepared to pay per click (a “bid”). Bids are set for each keyword and the amount can range from 1 to 80,000 JPY. The advertiser is never charged a per-click fee in excess of their bid. (*1)
* The click fees incurred by an advertiser are deducted from the amount they have prepaid into their account (3,000 JPY or more). Payments can be made by credit card or bank transfer.
