Tags for Site Retargeting

When using “Site retageting” that enables you to deliver ads to internet users who have visited your website in the past, you need to install “Site retargeting tag” on your website.

Setting site retargeting:

We recommend you to install a renewed “Site general tag, complementary feature tag of conversion analytics”.

If you have already installed a former site retargeting tag on your website:

You can continue to use the former site retargeting tag.

Tips
It is not mandatory to replace it with the renewed version of the tag.
The new conversion tag format avoids the impacts such as changes made to several browsers under certain environments. We recommend you to replace it, if you have a chance.

About renewed tags

Site general tag, complementary feature tag of conversion analytics

  • Updates on the renewed tag
    With the former version of site retargeting tag, it may not be possible to properly accumulate the visit history of internet users depending on the browser environment of each provider. The renewal version is in a new format that is less susceptible to these effects and enables more accurate site retargeting.

  • The tag works also as a site general tag
    This tag also has the function of a site general tag, so you don’t need to install an additional site general tag.

Before using renewed tags

Installation of the tag

  • When installing the renewed “Site general tag, complementary feature tag of conversion analytics” on the website where the former version of the tag installed, we recommend you to remove the former tag before installing the new one.

  • We recommend that you install the renewed “Site general tag, complementary feature tag of conversion analytics” on all pages of the site.

  • Even if you have already installed the former version of the tag on your website, we recommend the installation of renewed “Site general tag, complementary feature tag of conversion analytics” when you add a new page to your website.

How to check the installed “Site general tag, complementary feature tag of conversion analytics”

You can check the renewed tag installed on your website with the following procedure.

Steps (for Search Ads, for Display Ads on the former tool)
  1. Click the “Tool” tab, then select “Target Lists”.
  2. On the “Target Lists” page, click “View Tag”.
  3. Click “Renewed”.
Steps (for Display Ads on the new ad management tool)
  1. In the upper right corner of the new platform, click the “Tools” icon (Spanner icon). Then in the “Common library”, select “Target lists”.
  2. In the “Target lists” page, click “View tag and ID”.


    Tips
    You can check only the renewed tag on the new management tool of Display Ads.

Where you install the tag:

Please install the tag just before “</body>” tag on all pages on your website.
