Daily budget
Campaign daily budget is the average amount you want to spend per campaign a day. Set an amount for a campaign based on your budget or past results.
- The daily budget is a required setting.
- Campaign daily budget starts a day from midnight (JST).
- Daily budgets that appear in the ad management tool don't include tax.
Charging limit
On days when your ads are likely to get you more traffic, your cost may significantly exceed the daily budget. Regardless of the exceeded cost, the charging limit is up to 120 % of your daily budget.
- Note
- Performance data or reports in the ad management tool have all costs occurred, so the amount you charged can be different from the costs on reports.
- Check the balance between your budget and bids. Other than the seasonal or temporary impacts of TV, social media, etc., your cost can exceed the budget because your bid is relatively high compared to your daily budget.
Budget change during a day
You can change the daily budget after you created a campaign. When you change the daily budget during a day, the system calculates the available amount for the rest of the day based on the new budget and run ads. If you get more traffic, the cost may exceed the daily budget. We calculate the charging limit as follows:
The charging limit per day=(Before) Up to 120% of budget+(After) Up to 120% of the available amount
- Note
- After you change the budget, ads restart running without considering the costs that have already been incurred that day. So, the cost of the day may be significantly higher than the new budget.
- If you lowered the daily budget significantly, ads may not run for the rest of the day.

Billing of costs out of delivery duration
User clicks on Display Ads are valid for 24hours. Therefore, a click may be counted even after the scheduled ad delivery period.
- Example
- A user visited a certain page and he/she did not close the browser window for hours, then the user clicks an ad whose delivery period has been over.
Costs occurred after the campaign duration won't be charged.
- Note
- Clicks and costs occurred after campaign period may be applied on Performance report and Performance data of the Campaign Management Tool and may not be the same as charged.
