Create campaigns by goal

Yahoo! JAPAN Ads With the Display Ads Campaign Management Tool, campaigns are created according to ad goal.

* The campaign goals "Item list promotion" and "Brand awareness" are available only for limited advertisers. It can be used by advertisers who can select those types of goals on the screen of selecting campaign goals.

About “campaign goals”


With Yahoo! JAPAN Ads Display Ads (Auction), you can create campaigns that are optimized according to the ad goal, such as video views or website traffic. Delivery of the created campaign is optimized according to the goal.
Below are the types of campaign goals.

(*2) Smartphone Brand Panel placement (for web) and Smartphone Yahoo! JAPAN News Prime Cover (for web) are be available at starting ad delivery with the campaign goal "Brand awareness" as of August 2020.

Tips
In some smartphone apps provided by Yahoo! JAPAN, the video view screen that is displayed by tapping the video posted on the timeline may be "display of the video and the landing page in the upper and lower two layers". In that case, the landing page of the ad is displayed when the video view screen is displayed, so it is counted as "click occurred.”

Note

If both of the following conditions are true and you set up auto bidding, the only conversion that will be optimized is conversions via click (the metric is "Conversions (via click)") only.
Conversions via video view is out of optimization scope.

  • Campaign goal is “App promotion” or “Conversion”
  • Delivering ads of “Banner (video)” or “Responsive (video)”

Tip for selecting campaign goal

The campaign goal you should select differs depending on the goal of ad placement. If you’re unsure of which one to select, refer to the flow chart below.

Scenario 1
You want to deliver video ads to various devices and spots to gain more conversions.
->Select “Conversion” as the campaign goal and “Responsive (video)” or “Banner (video)” for the ad type.
Tips
With Display Ads (Auction), you can put videos in ads even if you select a campaign goal other than “video views.”
Scenario 2
You want to deliver ads on the Yahoo! JAPAN top page to increase visitors to your site.
->Select “website traffic” as the campaign goal.
Display Ads (Auction) is set up to deliver ads to maximize the number of actions according to the goal, so ad delivery is not limited to the top page of Yahoo! JAPAN.
Tips
